Registration is now open for the 19th edition of the Procigar Festival, scheduled for Feb. 16–19, 2027, in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. Those interested in attending can register now at www.procigar.org.
Organized by the Association of Dominican Cigar Manufacturers, the annual festival brings cigar retailers, industry professionals and enthusiasts closer to the people, traditions and craftsmanship behind the Dominican Republic’s premium cigar industry.
The 2027 program will include factory and tobacco field tours, educational sessions, cigar-focused presentations, premium cigar tastings, cultural celebrations and evening events hosted by Procigar member companies. Together, these activities offer attendees an immersive look at how Dominican premium cigars are grown, produced and brought to market.
For retailers, the festival provides firsthand product knowledge and stories that can be carried back to the sales floor. Visiting tobacco fields and factories, meeting the people behind prominent brands and observing production firsthand can help tobacconists speak more confidently and meaningfully with customers.
That value was highlighted by PCA Board member and Georgetown Tobacco tobacconist Teresa Wessling following her first Procigar Festival experience in 2026. In PCA Magazine’s “Our Soil and Soul: A Peek Inside Procigar Festival 2026”, Wessling explained how firsthand exposure to cigar production gave her context that online content and traditional marketing could not replicate.
The article also offers retailers considering the 2027 festival a closer look at the educational tours, industry relationships, Dominican hospitality and evening celebrations that define the experience.
New Experiences Planned for 2027
The upcoming festival will introduce two additions to its program. The new Procigar Hopping Tour will take participants on a series of shorter visits to Procigar’s strategic partners, providing a broader look at companies within the Dominican tobacco cluster.
The Procigar Discovery Tour will offer another immersive way for attendees to explore the country’s tobacco industry through Procigar’s perspective.
The festival will conclude with the Auction Gala Dinner, featuring dining, live entertainment and Procigar’s annual charity auction. Procigar member companies donate exclusive humidors, collectible cigar lots and limited-edition releases, with proceeds supporting initiatives that benefit communities connected to the Dominican cigar industry.
Retailers and other industry members interested in attending can register for the 2027 Procigar Festival at www.procigar.org. Questions about registration may be directed to mvalerio@procigar.org or +1 (849) 268-3458.
