Blackbird Cigar Co. will begin shipping Mockingbird on October 26, 2026, following a complete sellout of the cigar’s 5,000-unit allocation to retail partners before its official release.
The new Short Run marks Blackbird’s 10th anniversary and draws inspiration from the Crow blend while introducing a distinct tobacco recipe. The company produced the cigars during the first quarter of 2025 and rested them for the 2026 launch.

Blackbird describes the profile as opening with cedar, earth and pepper before developing notes of roasted coffee, toasted nuts, leather and cocoa. The company said any future production will depend on the availability of the tobaccos used for the blend.
“We didn’t spend ten years building Blackbird to sound like everybody else,” CEO and co-founder Jonas Santana said. “We built it to have a voice of its own.”
Retail allocation sells through
Blackbird reported that retailers purchased the entire first run before launch. The company named more than three dozen retail partners across the continental United States and Puerto Rico, including Cigars Daily, Smokingpipes, Atlantic Cigar, Best Cigar Prices, Neptune Cigar, Twins Smoke Shop and The Cigar Lounge Plano.
The limited allocation and conditional future production make Mockingbird a short-run item rather than a guaranteed ongoing line extension.
