This means that our lobbyists cannot enter the building to take part in critical discussions impacting pipe tobacco over the next 48 HOURS! We need you, your employees, and all your customers to participate in a grassroots campaign beginning tonight and continuing through the weekend to save the pipe tobacco industry in Maryland.
Without your participation, the tax on pipe tobacco will increase from 30% to potentially 70% and pipe tobacco can only be consumed on premises at your business. No customers would be able to purchase pipe tobacco to take home!
