Per Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations, a member company of PCA must first provide Premium Cigar PAC with prior authorization before any individual in its restricted class can contribute or be solicited.
Political action committees (PACs) of corporate trade associations like PCA (which has corporate members, not individual members) must first receive permission from a member company’s primary contact prior to accepting or soliciting a PAC contribution. Only an individual (or immediate family members) in the “restricted class” of a PCA member company whose company has given prior authorization is eligible to contribute to Premium Cigar PAC.
The “restricted class” of a member company is defined as “the company’s executive and administrative personnel or their families.” Executive and administrative personnel are paid on a salary and have policy-making, managerial, professional, or supervisory responsibilities.
PREMIUM CIGAR PAC PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FORM
Before an individual in the “restricted class” can be asked to contribute to the Premium Cigar PAC, their member company’s primary contact must have completed a Premium Cigar PAC Prior Authorization Form (below).
The primary contact is defined as the representative of the corporation with whom the trade association normally conducts the association’s activities.
Note: Multiple years are listed at the bottom of the form. The Premium Cigar PAC allows member companies to grant up to six (6) years of prior authorization by selecting the boxes next to the respective year(s), thus alleviating you from having to re-authorize each year.
Granting Prior Authorization does not obligate you to contribute, however, it does allow the Premium Cigar PAC to keep you informed about political and legislative issues and activities. By completing the form below, you are verifying you are an authorized representative for your company and that the Premium Cigar Association is the only trade association which your company has given prior authorization to for the same calendar year(s) indicated.
