Aganorsa Leaf to Honor Arsenio Ramos with PCA24 Release

Aganorsa Leaf is honoring Arsenio Ramos with its upcoming release set to debut during the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA24) trade show and convention. This new line of cigars, called the Aganorsa Leaf Arsenio, was crafted in memory of Aganorsa Leaf’s master blender, Arsenio Ramos, who passed in 2018.

Ramos was born in Cuba in 1934 and spent his entire life working with tobacco. When he was in Cuba, Ramos was in charge of processing tobacco–especially the fermentation process–for Cubatabaco in Pinar Del Rio. After half a century, Ramos left Cuba and began working for Aganorsa Leaf in Nicaragua. Here, he spent 18 years establishing Aganorsa’s growing operations and played a big role in cultivating the signature flavor and aroma that Aganorsa Leaf has become known for.

In honor of his memory, Aganorsa Leaf will release a favorite, previously unrealized, blend of the Cuban master in three sizes. This cigar is made entirely of Aganorsa Leaf tobacco and will make its debut during the PCA24 trade show. Aganorsa Leaf describes the Aganorsa Leaf Arsenio as being “rich, balanced, and … Cubanesque.”

In a press release, founder and owner of Aganorsa Leaf Eduardo Fernandez commented: “Arsenio was a giant of the Cuban tobacco industry. “He was a self-taught man of humble means, a true craftsman. He was a great human being who was instrumental in creating the singular flavor that distinguishes the richness of Aganorsa’s leaf, taking us back to the traditions of a true Habano of old. This blend was his favorite and a tribute to his lifetime of work.”

Terence Reilly, vice president of sales and marketing at Aganorsa Leaf, added: “We’ve been working on this project for years now because every detail needed to be executed flawlessly. We took our time to ensure the final product was worthy of Arsenio and a true homage to his impact on Aganorsa.”

The Aganorsa Leaf Arsenio will come in 15-count boxes and will be presented in three sizes: Robusto, 5 1/4 x 54; Toro, 6 x 52; and Corona, 6 x 44 (Arsenio’s favorite size). This cigar will be produced in limited quantities each year. For 2024, there will be 2,000 boxes each of Toro and Robusto and 1,500 boxes of Corona.
