Cigar Ambassador, one of the largest sellers of raw premium tobacco to the Asian market, has announced its introductory premium cigar brand, Tobacco Queen. This cigar pays tribute to Cigar Ambassador co-founder Lily Wang, also known as the Tobacco Queen, and Queen Isabella.
Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand were there first monarchs of Spain to finance Christopher Columbus’s expedition. It was during this expedition where Columbus landed in modern day Bahamas, leading to his introduction to tobacco. Similar to Queen Isabella, Lily Wang has gone against many odds to become a well-known figure within the tobacco industry.
“My mother Lily Wang is an inspiration to me. Born in China she was an unlikely candidate to do what she has accomplished in the cigar industry. In 2005 she left her career in finance and along with her business partner Edward Jin, created a cigar magazine, cigar lounges, and cultivated a farm in the Dominican Republic which is now the largest producer of premium tobacco to the Asian market. This cigar, which is our first blend is my gift to her in recognition of these amazing achievements,” states Ausman Soriano Wang, director of Cigar Ambassador North America.
Each Tobacco Queen blend was handcrafted at the Cigar Ambassador cigar factory in Tamboril, Santiago, in the Dominican Republic. Here is a breakdown of each blend:
