Three new Buenaventura cigars, made by Curivari, have begun shipping to retailers. These new Buenaventura cigars are part of Curivari’s sub-brand, Favoritos, and feature three wrapper options. This cigar was introduced at the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA24) trade show in Las Vegas this past March.
Manufactured at Tabacalera de Nicaragua S.A., the Buenaventura Favoritos was developed as a result of Curivari’s team experimenting with different tobaccos as they were working to create new blends. With this blend, the Curivari team agreed they had crafted something different with the Buenaventura Favoritos.
“We knew the flavor profile was exceptional. To highlight this, we combined high-quality fillers with aged binders, bringing forth distinct notes in three different interpretations. Each features a unique wrapper: Connecticut Ecuador, Rosado Cuban seed, and naturally fermented Mexican Negro San Andrés. Every aspect of the three Buenaventura Favoritos lines has been meticulously crafted to ensure the tobaccos complement and enhance the unique qualities of each blend—offering an extraordinary experience from the moment you light up,” the company explained in a press release.
They continued, “This journey began as we recovered from farm losses, working with tobacco patiently in the silence of time. The Buenaventura Favoritos is a testament to teamwork, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to the audience that has followed for years our creations, one cigar at a time, crafted in a small factory with dedication and love for the art.”
There are three different wrapper options for the Buenaventura Favoritos: Connecticut Equador, Nicaragua Habano, and Mexico San Andrés. The binder and filler for all three wrapper options are Nicaraguan. The Connecticut is available in 5 x 50 and 6 x 54 sizes; Habano in a 5 x 56 and 6 x 60; the Maduro Mexico San Andrés wrapper in a 5 x 56 and 6 x 60 vitola. The suggested retail price per cigar ranges from $4.90 to $5.90 before applicable taxes.
