Joya de Nicaragua’s Clásico Original returned to U.S. tobacconists’ store shelves in 2023 as an exclusive for Club de Amigos retailers. Joya de Nicaragua is now making this special premium cigar available to more U.S. retailers.
“Considering the legacy of the Clásico Original and its popularity in America since the ’70s and ’80s, we’ve decided to open up its sales to all US retailers,” says Juan Martinez, executive president of Joya de Nicaragua. “This cigar has always belonged to the people. It’s no longer just about our history; it’s about the memories it has created for cigar lovers over the years.”
The Joya de Nicaragua Clásico Original is the oldest Nicaraguan cigar, made in Nicaragua’s first cigar factory. This cigar became the official cigar of the White House during the Nixon Administration as it was an alternative to the embargoed Cuban cigars. Today, the Clásico Original is Joya de Nicaragua’s global bestseller and a favorite of cigar smokers worldwide.
Clásico Original has an Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrapper and Nicaraguan binder and fillers. It is a mild, woody smoke with creamy notes and subtle hints of pepper. Joya’s Clásico Original is available in four sizes: Robusto, 5 x 50; Toro, 6 x 50; Churchill, 6 7/8 x 48; and Torpedo, 6 x 52. The suggested retail price per cigar ranges from $8.75 to $9.75 before applicable taxes. This cigar will come in boxes of 25.
